Leashy sends no personal data or location to us.
This describes the Leashy app. The optional saved-location feature uses location on your devices. Apple services and information you choose to email us are explained below.
What the app stores
Leashy saves your monitoring settings and Bluetooth connection configuration in app storage. If you enable location, it also saves your iPhone’s last known coordinates, the reading’s time and its estimated accuracy.
Your Watch stores up to 50 recent connection-loss records, which can include the latest location available to it. Older test versions may also have saved records on iPhone.
These records help show connection status, provide local Watch alerts and display your last known iPhone location. Leashy does not measure the Watch’s own location or provide live phone tracking after separation.
Between your devices
Settings, connection configuration and the optional saved iPhone location are shared with your paired Apple Watch using Apple’s Watch Connectivity. Location is not included in the public Bluetooth advertisement. Watch connection-loss records are stored separately and are not synced back to iPhone.
Leashy has no user account, developer-operated backend, advertising or integrated third-party analytics SDK. It does not send your saved location or connection history to us. “No tracking” means the app does not track you across other apps or websites for advertising or data-broker purposes. Optional location readings help you find your own phone.
Your choices and deletion
Bluetooth and Watch notifications support connection alerts. Location is optional. Allowing location while using the app enables readings when it is open. Allowing Always access enables updates after significant movement in the background; Leashy does not run continuous GPS tracking.
Turn off Settings → Save iPhone location to stop new readings. You can also change permissions in system settings. Stopping access does not, by itself, erase previously saved data.
On iPhone, Settings → Your data → Delete history and location deletes that iPhone’s history and saved location and disables new readings. When the Watch next syncs, it deletes its saved location and removes coordinates from its connection-loss records. Until then, its previous copy may remain. The records’ timestamps remain on the Watch.
Other app data stays in each device’s app storage until replaced or removed. Delete Leashy from both iPhone and Watch to remove their separate app data. Removing an icon or offloading an app is different from deleting it. Previously created device backups are managed separately through your Apple or computer backup settings.
Apple Maps and backups
Maps displayed in Leashy and Open in Maps use Apple’s services. Apple processes information needed for maps and directions, such as the displayed map area or a requested destination. This is separate from data sent to us. See Apple Maps & Privacy.
Leashy has no cloud sync service of its own. App data may be included in device backups depending on your settings; backup storage and deletion follow the services you use.
TestFlight testing
When you install a beta through TestFlight, Apple separately collects and shares beta usage and crash reports with us. Depending on the invitation, this may include your name and email address. Feedback you choose to submit can include comments and screenshots. These reports help us investigate problems and improve Leashy; they are not an analytics SDK built into the app.
Apple controls how long reports remain available in TestFlight. If we retain a separate copy for troubleshooting, we keep it only while needed to investigate the associated issue or verify its fix, then remove it.

Email support
If you email us, we receive your email address, message and any attachments you choose to send. We use this correspondence to respond to your request and investigate the issue you report. This is separate from the app’s automatic operation.
We keep correspondence while resolving your request and handling related follow-up. When it is no longer needed for that purpose, we remove it, unless a legal requirement calls for longer retention.
Do not include a location or other personal information unless you want to share it for that request. Contact the same address with questions about your correspondence or to request deletion.
This support website
This site has no advertising, added analytics, contact forms or third-party media embeds. Email links open your email app; they do not send a message automatically.
The site is hosted using OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare infrastructure. Hosting and access services may process technical request information, such as your IP address and requested page, to deliver and secure the site. Their handling of that information is separate from the Leashy app. See OpenAI’s privacy policy and Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
